million collected in the first two weeks!!!! Thank you for your hard work.
The Wesley Walk is off to a great start, thanks to a large number of dedicated
Wesley Loyalists. Most of the 6000 parents have come forward to help the
students to make record sales in the first two weeks of the launch. Rs.600,000
collected from Pin Cards. Rs.400000 confirmed pledges for Caps and Shirts. Other
pledges so far: 20 trade stalls, 20 banners worth another Rs.300,000. Target
Rs.5M.
The College Prefects are organizing 20 mini coopers and two horses to lead the
Parade. Umbrellas, Key Tags, Shirt Buttons, and a few more items will be on sale
before the event. The initial 100 key tags have been already sold out.
The promotional banners and posters have been distributed to super markets and
posted at strategic locations.
Four teachers and 5 Prefects went to 10 schools and a few companies to promote
the event - Bishops and Methodists included. They also went on a Highfield
style collecting donations on the busy streets of Colombo.
Three Senior and 4 junior teachers are assigned for Pin Card distributions and
collection of money. The whole campaign is gathering momentum and dedicated
Wesleyites are determined to make the project a success.
The Carnival and Pola will start at 12nooon at Campbell Park while the Parade
will be at 7.30am starting from Wesley College.
