Presenting  financial Aid to Wesley College Rugby Development Council  

WCAME is proud to announce the funds to the Wesley College Rugby Development Council which was one of the main project for the year 2008 & the amount of LKR 180,000 [ Rupees One hundred and eighty thousand]  was presented to the Principal at his residence in College  with the distinguish gathering  respective rugby development Council Authorities of the school.

 The Chaplin of College blessed the WCAME and all its members & prayed for the Alumni to grow in strength & would be source to recognise in the region.

 At the key note speech by the Principal  he Welcome & thanked WCAME representatives Sharman Mouffer [ President ] , Rezzanno Jaldin
[ Secretary] Gavin Moonesinghe [ Treasurer]  for gracing the occasion &  all contributors, & expected many more contribution would flow henceforth from the WCAME.

 Capt Navin de Silva also gave few words of appreciation and commended the boys for gathering for Meetings at such heavy rush of work & traffic congestion in Dubai. Also in the gathering was Clive de Silva spoke a few words.

Sharman Mouffer the President of the WCAME also gave a few words how the Alumni was formed and thank all contributors to the Alumni in the Middle East.

Also on donations the WCAME decided to donate a Lawnmower which as per the College Cricket  Authorities was in much need hence  Purchasing it for a cost of  LKR 65,ooo[ Rupees Sixty five thousand] the handing over of same was also held simultaneously at the same venue with some senior Authorities of the Cricket Development council likes of the President Mr. Lucky Goonethilaka  & Capt. Navin de Silva.

Lanka Lions Inter School Cricket Sixes 

We participated in the Lanka Lions Inter Schools Cricket sixes on 29^th of January’09 and came up to the Semi finals of the Cup Championship under the dynamic leadership of Sheik Aslam. During the Tournament we beat Thurstan, Nalanda, and the quarter finals beat Isipathana in a nail biting thriller in the last ball. Unfortunately we had to go out in the Semi Finals to Lumbini MV who were the eventual champs.

 Alumni wishes to thank the players for keeping the college flag flying high & all who turned up and gave their encouragements for the boys without whom it wouldn’t have being successful. Special thanks to Sri, Ravi, Indika & Ratne who had to pull out of the tournament due to the injury sustained during Cricket practises.

 Team comprised of Sheik Aslam,  Handsome Riyaz, Rezzanno, Kottu Azri, Ishak Saly, Slowly Irfan , Nabooda Asif, & evergreen Ajith.
